“Pretend to be a quail,” I mused. “How would that work?”
Recently, I had decided to start asking around for a business coach. I realized I needed a business coach after losing my steam about creating a business. I had wanted to get the word out about obedience classes being for humans, not dogs. I thought dogs would be beating down the door to drag their humans to obedience classes.
I was trying to talk to Ralph, my outdoor friend. I don’t know what animal he is, I only see his eyes because he lives in the rocks.
Ralph blinked his eyes. “Well, you could start by watching the quails. How do they approach each other?”
I thought about this. “I don’t know. They usually don’t let me get close enough to them.”
Ralph blinked his eyes again. “Then why don’t you try watching them from a distance?”

“What do you mean that might be part of my problem?” I asked Ralph.

Ralph blinked his eyes. “Other animals eat quails. Like dogs. Dogs eat quails. So when you chase after the quails and yell at them, you scare them because they think you might eat them.”
I thought about this. “So what do I do? How do I approach them?”
Ralph blinked his eyes again. “Why don’t you pretend to be a quail. If you were a quail, how would you approach other quails?”

I decided to talk to my friend Ralph about how to talk to the quails.
Recently, I had decided to start asking around for a business coach. I realized I needed a business coach after losing my steam about creating a business. I had wanted to get the word out about obedience classes being for humans, not dogs. I thought dogs would be beating down the door to drag their humans to obedience classes.
Ralph is my outdoor friend. I don’t know what animal he is, I only see his eyes because he lives in the rocks.
“The squirrel told me the quails could help, but all they do is run away when I try to talk to them,” I said dejectedly.
Ralph blinked his eyes slowly at me. “That’s because they think you’re going to eat them.”
“But I’m not going to eat them. I eat my dog food. I only want to talk to them.”
Ralph sighed. “But they don’t know that.”
I put my head down. “They should. I keep yelling that at them.”
Ralph blinked again. “And that might be part of the problem.”
